So, uh... I decided to start everything over from scratch. I wasn't entirely satisfied with the stuff I had completed, and I've evolved a fair bit since the last completed page of Issue 1. Plus, I made changes to several characters midway(especially visually), and I could've just used in-universe reasons to explain any changes... Except the sudden shift in art style and methods. 'Cuz things went from clean, glowy lineart with clean airbrush shading to rough, pixelated lineart and rough pencil-esque shading to give everything a more... "raw", imperfect look. Could have the 4th wall breaking character interrupt things to explain it, but that so does no good to the pacing.

So yeah. I'm starting my little passion project, Kickass Jerks, over from scratch. And believe me, it isn't the first time. I've been working on this series for close to 5 years, and counting this, it's been restarted 7 times. It's pretty much unrecognizable from its first incarnations. The characters have largely survived all the transitions, they've just been put in different roles almost every time. Really, the only characters that have kept their role from the start are the protagonist, Keito, and his best friend, Nathan, serving as the tritagonist of the series(the role of deuteragonist tends to shift with the main love interest).

Howdy, folks! My name's Joni and I'm here to announce, I'm launching a Comic Series! It's called Kickass Jerks and it's a passion project of mine that I've been working on for about 4 years. I've tried to launch it several times over the past 3 years(it was pretty much a launch attempt every year, not counting my contest entry for MediBang's Shonen Jump contest), but I haven't much success until now.

So, what is this thing? Well, it's an action-adventure series that focuses on 4 characters, Keito, Nathan, Olivia and Joni. They're all just trying to find their place in the world, but one particular event leads them to meeting each other and roaming the world, discovering many things and facing many foes along the way. I should note the series isn't recommended for those under 16 years old, as it contains some pretty realistic violence and some sexual content. The violence is the biggest point of concern.

Keito is the main character, he's an half-human, half-tiger creature(called a Hybrian) who behaves much in the same way Tarzan would. He's basically a human with tiger behaviors who doesn't have much experience with the outside world.

Nathan is Keito's best friend, they met each other as kids while Nathan is roaming around the forest and Keito is play-hunting. Since then, they've become basically inseperable, and often spar with each other. Nathan also happens to be an inventor, always carrying a plasma sword he made with the assistance of a friend of his. Nathan is an anthropomorphic animal(called a Beast in this series).

Olivia is the femme of the group. Sweet and caring, but packing a wallop, she's not someone folks wanna mess with. Olivia is a capable fighter and has hidden powers that she unfortunately can't quite control too well. It's always a risk for herself, it typically affects her in a similar to how the Kaio-Ken would affect Son Goku in the Dragon Ball series. She's a human and Joni's childhood friend.

Joni is a red duck who behaves very much like a Toon. Besides being hard to destroy, he has an arsenal of explosives, bazookas and mallets. Let him go nuts against a bad guy, and it's a total light show. Though he's typically careful with his weapons, he can get carried away and injure his allies by complete accident. He's also very protective of Olivia, being aware of what she's capable of, but still making sure she doesn't get hurt or in serious danger. He's willing to get beaten just so his friend gets away OK. He's also the only one of the group who's really seen Olivia's powers upclose, so he knows how much she can take before she collapses and often advises her not to use them unless it's a real emergency.
